Event Description

Western Lights CD Release Event!
5th String Music Store
930 Alhambra Blvd. Sacramento, CA
Friday, July 17, 2009, Music Starts 7:00 pm!

Western Lights has been a performing band in the Sacramento area for 12 plus years. After a year and a half in the making, we have finished our 2nd CD, “Bob Played Here!". We will be doing a CD release event at the 5th String Music Store in Sac on Friday July 17th! The band will have a number of special guests who helped make this CD extra special performing with them including the Ward Kids, (Proud Dad here!) Jimmy, Jennifer and Steven on guitar and vocals!

If you are in the Sacramento area, mark this date on your calendar and come on down for this special CD release party at the 5th String. Here are a few words about our new recording from Carolyn Faubel, California Bluegrass Association Membership Vice President:

“Bob Played Here!” is a delightful path through Bluegrass, Western Swing, Old Fashioned Gospel, and Old Timey music. Each turn of the road shows off another side of the great acoustic music that is this group’s specialty. Traditional and original songs performed with inspiration and awesome talent—that is Western Lights!

“Bob Played Here!” the title song for the CD is an original song we wrote as a tribute to Bob Wills, one of our hero’s and inspiration for our Western Swing music we love to do.

You can hear this song as well some others from this new CD as well as our original CD, "Favorites of ours" released in 1999 at our MySpace web site below.

Hope to see lots of our friends and family there! Best Wishes to all,

Bill Ward and all the Western Lights Band!

been awhile since Jed asked the pick question, so probably doesn't care by now, but when i went to a Beppe workshop some years ago, he was using the Dunlop 500 (not the tortex, but the glossy model), pink one... .98 thickness.
