July 4th: couldn't hold out any longer. Although
My Martin DC-1E is Acustic-Elec, Fishman Pre-Amp in a 6 string Cut-a-way........enabling me to plug into my Mac via GarageBand , then practice, record, etc.......
My other Martin, D 35 does not have a pre- amp, yet. That being the case, I've been wanting to Amp the D35 somehow......so, I bit the bullet, invested in a New Fishman Loudbox Mini Acoustic Amp (60 Watt& cover) Plus a Shure 57 Mic, Stand, XLR cable, etc. Wow! Am I impressed! Love the Natural/Clean sound with Reverb & Chorus....... This has freed me up from the Computer; I can use either of the two Martins with the Amp plus an aux input allows me to plug my iPad in, or something else. Has a DI (mixer input).....arrived today, and haven't tried the New Shure 57 Mic yet ( tomorrow) But the Martin DC-1E plugged into the Fishman sounds Wonderful! For me, I enjoy being able to here my self play from across the room/studio; somehow, just helps hearing yourself play?.!! With my other Mic Stand, I can affix my Zoom H2N an Record, Mic, Loop, an alot of other stuff......and then I have the Blue Snowball plugged into the Mac for use with the D35 into GarageBand ........however am anxious about the ability to break away from my Mac to practice ( computer is distracting my practice sessions?)
I'm new at all this gear, stuff and really don't know what I'm doing, but having fun with it! If anyone has any insite into the possibilities or options , I could explore......I'd appreciate it......For instance, I really don't know what the DI input is for, or what you could do with that Input on the Amp!?? Any suggestions for a learning beginner-............
