For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

Ive been using ohn Pearse 600l's . Recently tried a set of Adamas phosphor bronze, kind of a darker color than normal, but they sound/and last just as well as th JPs. 12-53 ga btw.

Anyone got a favorite set of uncoateds they'd like to share their feelings on? I just cant get used to the feel of the coated strings.

I've used Adamas strings in the past and like them. I use light gauge strings and was planning on trying some D'Addario's next time I buy some. I think I have a set of Martin's and a set of Rogue's around here somewhere. So when I use them, I'll try the D'Addario's.
Before I made the switch to the coated market I used the Martin Marquis sets, they always stayed in tune after the initial stretching and had good longevity to them. The coated brands that I have used are:
D'Addario EXP Bluegrass .012, .016, .025, .035, .045, .056
Elixir Acoustic Mediums .013 - .056
Cleartone Bluegrass .012, .016, .025, .036, .046, .056
To me, hands down the cleartone have all the other strings beaten. Another plus id that they don't have the coated feel. of course you do get a little bit of string noise but hardly enough to trade for the tone. Hope this helps.
D'Addario EJ17's for me too. However, in the last month I have broken the high E twice while drop d tuning. Really weird...but just string up another and back to the jam.
what is wrong with elixirs?i used to use uncoated d'ad's but in a humid climate they rust within weeks and last about five minutes compared to elixir's, and whats all this about 'the feel' of the strings ,when you flatpick you dont touch the strings with your picking hand and only use the tips of of your fingers with your fretting hand mostly,so i dont see how feel comes into it .
