Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

Hey everyone, I would like to perform a simple survey of all that will reply to this. I am very curious what brand and model of guitar is the most popular among the flatpickers here.  There are thousands of members here so it will be great information for someone trying to decide on a "friend". So lets have it flatpickers, what do you play?

I will start;

I play a McPherson MG 4.5 with bearclaw sitka spruce top and indian rosewood b&s

In my personal collection:

2010 Collings D1A

2007 Bourgeois Vintage OM

1919 Martin OO-28

20011 Huss & Dalton  TD-R

Martin D35 & Martin DC-1E ( Discontinued, became the Performing Artist Series); cut-a-way, Fishman Elec. Both Of these Ladies have that really Deep Mellow, Acoustic Tonal quality, unsurpassed by other Brands........a Surreal experience .........Go Martin! Even, sounds better as it Ages.......a real Jewel!

The Martin necks feel right to me.

I play a  D-28, a signature model OOOO which is very close to an OM, Martin size 5 tenor and a Martin Tenor Ukulele, a Martin sweat shirt and Martin baseball cap.

U go Girl! .......been thinkin' on the Uke!

I play, among other things and in no particular order: a sweet loud old D18, a plunky '35 Epiphone arch-top, a green telecaster, a Vega tubaphone 5 string, an Italian button accordion, a couple of gourds, and an extremely ratty old Kay bass (that I'd like to sell.)

Love hearing about people's cherished instruments.  All unique, like the folks who play them.

Tom

I play an HD-28, Collings OM, and my new John Walker Ruby Elite, which is a small jumbo.

Just got a Martin HD-16R-LSH.

Added a bone saddle and bridge pins.  Martin Med strings SP4250 (Bluegrass)

Sweetest sounding guitar I've owned.

I've had a SWDGT,  1968 D-18,  D-28 & Guild D-40.

Blueridge BR140
How do you like your BlueRidge? Had it long? Any pics?

Martin HD-28 and Eastman e20D, The eastman does not have the feel and craftsmanship you find in a Martin but for the price it's a good one to teach the kids on.

Harmony Sovereign that was re-braced and re-saddled and re-fretted, bought from Gene Tortora in late 70's (?)

2007 Rockbridge mahogany dreadnought

2011 Martin 000-18 Norman Blake

1928 Lyon & Healy Washburn rosewood 12-fret

and a few others

"I recently came across a steel string parlor guitar made by P. Benson, in Minneapolis.  It's really a nice little instrument--well built, comfortable, very much like an old Martin 00-18 (mahogany, slotted headstock, pyramid bridge, ladder…"

"My gear is much better than my skill - for straight flatpickin', I play a Martin D-18 Authentic 1937. My go-to guitar for just about everything else (and it flatpicks just fine, thank you) is my Huss & Dalton D-RH with a Red Spruce top.…"

"Thanks Mike. I have to prove to myself that I can play the material as written but once I've done that I start to allow myself some leeway to have fun and drop in my own bits. There's not too much space to do that in SK's version of…"
