Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

Hi Gal Pals,
It sounds like many of us play standard sized guitars, I've pretty much played Ds or OMs my whole life. If you were going to design the perfect guitar for you,,, What would it be? Size? Woods? Neck? Inlay? Strings? Case? Whatever you think would be good. Let's put our ideas together and see what happens. It would be interesting to see if we end up with something unique or if we end up with a D-28.

I like white binding on the neck so I can see the position markers even with bright lights shining in my eyes. Here's a goofy one. It would be fun to have little fiber optic lights at the position markers so I could see the dots at an outdoor jam at night.

Years ago, well, back in the seventies! Courtney and I were at Mossmans in Winfield, and one of the luthiers there was going to make Courtney a banjo neck with fiber optics in the neck. It never happened but it is a good idea.
I like the white binding on the neck too. My HD-28 has the black binding, but I would of rather had the white :-)
