This year will be number 11 for me at Kamp. I still regret missing the 97 and 98 years. Can't wait.

my number 10 (8 official, 2 as Krasher). Teaching beginning old time banjo for the second year as an afternoon class. Hope to take delivery of my new NGC at Kamp this summer.

I've been to Kaufman Kamp twice. The instructors were tops, nightly concerts and open mic for those who want to perform. Comfortable finding jam groups to be part of also. I would go at least every other year if the trip from Utah to there were easier. The stop in Atlanta is bad - a huge airport and hard to make a connection to Knoxville without a lot of hassel. Next time I'll connect with another flight at a smaller airport. I would give it 4 stars!

Hi Tommy and Gus (and everyone else),
This will only be Year 4 for me, but Steve keeps me busy instructing vocal harmony, beginner (non-rotation) guitar and helping coordinate lots of other stuff. I'd love to hear from folks who will be attending either week (I'll be there both weeks)---the better we can get to know each other and make plans in advance, the more "quality time" we can spend pickin' !

Here we are about 20 days from the big kick off of week one. Donna and I are so much looking forward to seeing the group come in. each year gets better and it's hard to believe how but I can only think it is from you all. Coming back or starting new and looking forward to the week of music and friendships.
Flatpicking Kamp has about 6 slots left if anyone out there still hasn't registered. You need to email me off list or call the office to be sure. We added in one more teacher to keep the class size down. Maryville's own Jeff Jenkins the King of Swing will be with us.
See you all soon and more later -

Well the first week of the 13th Annual SKAK is wrapping up tonight. We've hada wonderful week. Some are beginning to get a little weepy already at the thoguht of coming to an end. So many new friends and old friends coming together to play music. Wonderful!
Tonight we giveaway the Ken Miller Kamp Guitar, Deering Boston Banjo, and Goodtime Banjo, Baby Taylor. Knowing someone will walk away with them is an excitement that is indescribeable. Next week we give away a Big Baby Taylor a 310 CE Taylor, A Weber Yellowstone mandolin and a Collings D-2H.

Today is also Band Scramble Day. I will try to post weeklong Kamp pictures at www.acoustic-kamp.com soon.
Great first week!!

The 2008 Kamp is now past but the effect and instruction is enough to last quite a while into 2009 just in time for your return June 14 and June 21, 2009.
I will be posting the line up in a few days so check it out.
We added two new full day classes.
1- Week One Mountain Dulcimer Class with Mike Clemmer - study all day all week

2- Week Two - Songwriting and Vocal Study with Kathy Chiavola - award winning singer/songwriter. Study all day - all week.

These are tremendous additions to our Acoustic Kamps and we are looking forward to seeing a great response for both of these classes.
More info soon and thanks for being with us in June!

I am saving money to come back may be next year. I was in the Kamp in 2005 and I really had a ball there, it is hard to go back to France, but I have great guitar pickers buddies, it helps makes the wait bareable! Hi Steve and Dana, big cheers, jean.

Hi, all -- I was at Kamp in '04, and it was a great experience. Hope to return one day, though it'll be a tad more difficult now that I've moved permanently from Canada to Italy.....)

Hi Gang
This year's instructors are going to be listed soon but if you want a peek they are at www.acoustic-kamp.com and follow the Brochure link.
This is shaping up to again be the Best Year Ever!
Folks are saying they are signing in in groups for 4-8 so let's see. An unbelievable line-up and as always the nicest students in the world.
Be sure to tell friends thinking about Kamp that it truely is for all levels including Zero Experience for Guitar, Banjo, Fiddle and Mandolin.
See you in June you all!
