Bill, Landing Bryan McDowell is a wonderful addition for Peaceful Bend. I saw the entire Mandolin and the entire Flatpick guitar contest this year, and he is a genuine phenom---clean tone and smooth with wonderful timing. You may have noticed that he played a Bob Thompson guitar at Winfield, and there is a very nice story about Bob's encouragement and help with Bryan's quest. Is he appearing solo or bringing his entire band?

I was sorry to have missed Bryan's performances at Winfield while we were playing there... I don't know where I was... but he will be a shining star hard to ignore pretty soon. There are just a few so talented... I am blessed to be able to play with one of those kinds of people.

We now have the 2009 Winfield Flatpicking, mandolinin, fiddlin champ on board as well.
Bryan McDowell is the first 3 instrument in 1 year winner ever, and will be a great addition to the weekend.!

Bill,
Any new thoughts on next year yet .... also do you have a date in mind? I'm going to be doing a juggling act and sure hope that this all works out ..... My niece will be graduating from University of Indiana and there may be another wedding near the Peaceful Bend time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed all of the time.

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
