Focus on flatpicking

First of all I created this group by mistake, I'm suppose to join a group but wind up creating one. Well any way, family/ work pressures / and other things that surround you and me is really slowing down studying how to flatpick. Dane Miller's PDF lessons on this subject (essential flatpick series) is my bible. I printed it, read it and play the songs. But this is not enough, complete devotion is a must. For me I don't need a teacher because I know how to read notes and some guitar theory on hand. I once had a classical guitar teacher who gives pieces to play. That all there is, no theory, no ear training, no excersises. From there he guides me how to play it properly, but me I keep on wondering why do I need to run the do re me fa sol scale on the next bar? Studying more will answer all of this.

Hey Ramon, I,m new and have played guitar for 44yrs, self taught, also know scales, some theory, chords, progressions, and read music (still need to work on my reading) , I just ordered Dan's FE vol 1, not received it yet. when I do I am going to give it my all, I hope to find some players somewhere on this site, that are like minded, hope to hit a vein soon and things will begin to flow, thanks Ray

Dan Miller's FE vol. 1 to 8 is the bible for flatpicking methods, you start with the history, then the techniques. I already own the entire volumes thru digital downloads. Although convenient but costly on paper and inks if you were to print it. Just review everything not once but 3 times specially the audios. I have small hands, so flatpicking is not that easy.
