What's New at Red Bear

September 2008
Check out the October issue of Guitar Player Magazine. We have a great review by their editor-in-chief. Thanks to that review, the phone has been ringing off the hook with orders. No complaints here!

We have three new pick designs. The "Classic II", the "C II" and the "Style F". See our site for a full spread of all our picks, complete with dimentions, where you can see them side-by-side for comparison.

I was busy busting out orders today and my phone rang. Lo and behold - it was John Reischman! John had been using one of my picks - a heavy style E with a slight left-hand bevel, and was wanting to get some more. How cool is that? He'll be our latest endorsee, using his Red Jasper colored picks. John, Jim Nunally and Nick Hornbuckle all use one of my picks in their group "The Jaybirds". Check them out on the John Reischman and the Jaybirds website. They play all over the country so if they come to a venue near you, go see them. They are fantastic!

Justin Carbone emailed me about some picks. You may know Justin's work as the guitar player for Special Consensus. I look forward to working with Justin in finding the best tone available from his guitars.

Keith Sewell contacted me about making some picks for him. He's going to be doing the summer tour with Lyle Lovett and his Large Band, and naturally, he needs to sound his best. I'm a big fan of Keith's - in fact his CD "Love is a Journey" is one of the cd's I keep on my short-list of favorites. Check out the tune "Duncan Station" on it. Keith is doing some serious flatpicking on it! That's my favorite tune on the cd. I'm jazzed to be working with him! More about Keith . . .

We have a small amount of the coveted "Clown Barf" material in stock. I have some medium and heavy material all processed and ready to go. I also have some raw that I can go to any thickness up to about 3mm and any style. Shown here is a bad scan of a style "C" pick. It's not that great a scan, but you get the idea of the color. I'll get a better scan of one soon.

Shoot me a message if you'd like to get a pick made from this color material. We haven't yet placed them on the shopping cart over on our Red Bear site. We may not do that right now either. Presently we have enough to make approximately 30 picks. I hope to acquire more this summer or early autumn.

Pick On!
