Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

I wanted to drop a link to a myspace page that has some recent songs I've mixed down.
This is my first solo effort I've ever done. It's an album by me and my friend Abe Goorskey.
We've had a lot of good help on it and I've posted the best three songs on our page.
It's 2years of my life on a little round plastic disc/coaster. Abe and I have written 8 of the 10 songs and I did all the guitar, tracking, mixing, graphic design, & mastering. I'm proud but I know it could be much better. I really need a strobe tuner and it showed on several songs. Any comments/encouragement would be helpful guys. www.myspace.com/patrickandgoorskey

The music is TERRIFIC!

But here's a big rotten tomato...

...don't put an apostrophe on a plural. It's "tomatoes". {insert evil grin}
Thanks. I've spent the last four days designing the graphics and have been trying to get all GRAMATICAL. Obviously, you see that is a REAL weeeeeeeeek point....I don't spell our count very well either.

There are three types of people in this world. Those who can count and those who can't!!!!
Thanks for the great feedback guys!
I liked all 3 tunes :) . That being said I wont be throwing anything your way , except some encouragement to get the rest of the tracks up there or somewhere.

Thanks for sharing.
Good work. I didn't hear any tuning problems but get a tuner andf use it before every take in case you get lucky. Never admit or excuse any mistakes as most people won't hear them. And remember your market isn't musicians - your market is fans of your music. Recording is a process, just plan the next one and keep on working. Every song you write contains the seed of the next one, so you have lots of material to continue with. It's all good...
Thanks for the thoughts guys.
Steve, Thanks for the very valuable insight. I'll keep that in mind.

Scott,
After listening to your tunes, all I can throw at you is more encouragement to keep writing! keep playing! keep recording! keep learning! Good bluegrass grooves. You are on the path.

Sounds great! I'd be very proud.

Thanks for encouragement guys. I'm very passionate about always learning and trying to improve the best way I can. This was one of the VERY difficult steps of improvement. recording and producing an album. It forces you to listen and to play. Not much more I can say about it. It also requires you to learn the software. I could take or leave the curve of learning software. That was the worst part...

Any Carbon Acoustic Guitar enthusiast here?

My first Carbon was an Adamas.I currently play a Rainsong Dred.I discovered carbon Guitars 2 years ago in a local Guitar store and purchased one within a month.  I played my first RainSong Dred about a year later and bought that one.I watched Scott Nygards reviews on you tube and that kinda got me searching.Anyone else play the fakes?See More
