Walnut Valley Festival and the National Guitar Championship

Winfield is a flatpicker’s paradise. From the pros on stage, to the pros and amateurs in the campground, to the fierce competition of the flatpicking contest, Winfield represents the best of the best.

Four months until Winfield!

Coy, man... the timing is so, so bad for me. I'm not ready to retire just yet, at 52... and Winfield falls in the very beginning of school. There must be a way... I'm thinnin' Babaloo... I'm thinnin'.

Hey guys. Never been to Winfield...might be able to swing it this year though.

This year will be my 33rd year in a row. Do you think I've got a habit, man?

Hey Gang!
A big public thanks to Dan for this forum and for including our little festival! You guys that support us don't realize just how important you are to making things work. If it we didn't get top notch pickers in the campground jams, a lot of fans would be looking else where!

Also, just in case you're interested...
The 2008 Flatpick Contest is just barely into the waiting list, and we have 8 past winners signed up, looks to be another great year.

I too am hoping to get there for the first time this year..
I have been told to get there 2 weeks early if I want a good campspot..
Is the wait spent at a campspot or on the side of the road in line?
Is electric available for the 2 week sit in ?
Is there water available . and a dump statiom ?
Alotta questions I know , and I truly will appreciate any advise..
Hey Dan F. .. it would be great to see ya there !

I've never been to Winfield but I plan on going for the first time. Should I take my guitar along for a little side pickin'?
