Dave, I play both guitar and banjo, though less banjo these days (by choice). I learned guitar first at a pretty young age and had been playing for about 5 years when I started to learn banjo at the age of 12. Funny, my reason for wanting to learn b…

Started playing when I was 7. Played professionally off/on over the years. Began competing seriously when I was about 30, about 13 years now. Still do some, it makes me practice and I really enjoy seeing my heroes, friends, and the young kids that are playing so well these days. I get lucky once in a while in them, I've still lost way more than I've won.

Hey Allen, how are things? It looks like I'll be headed down to the Henderson competition next month and I wasn't sure if you were going to be there. Let me know, and maybe we could pick a few if you're around.

Hi Allen,
Good to hear you play LRG again! I have been fooling with it and now I think I'll just leave it alone. Great job on such a difficult tune!
Best, Mark

Hi Allen,

I met you a couple of years ago at Wayne Henderson's shop when you were there with Jack Lawrence. Wayne was working on Doc's new guitar at the time. I think you are one of the most tasteful pickers out there, and enjoy your CD regularly!

Lake Santa Fe, mid-summer, no where near spawn or post spawn. Just a good fish that finds a piece of structure to sit on in deeper water and fatten up on shad during the summer, caught her on a crankbait in about 12' of water.

It's a dandy. During the spawn? What were you using?

Yes, the bass is real, a Fla bass. It weighed about 9 lbs.

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
