I have found that setting up a metranome and practicing helps greatly. I like to warm up slow and build speed on scales. Then I move to rhythm. Then I focus on new licks and breaks that I have issues with. I spend a great deal of time tryin to perfe…

Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish)
I began playin at the ripe age of 8 and Ive just kept playin. Tony Rice was and is my biggest influence. I do strive to be my own artist though. I joined the Army and served honorably for four years.
My career as a pro (If you would call me that) began when I started playing guitar for Don Rigsby. I have sat in with several artists like Marty Raybon, and Dave Evans. I have been on stage with J.D. Crow,Scott Vestal,Randy Kohrs, Melvin Goins, and Ron Rigsby. While with Don I was lucky enough to win an IBMA award for the "Celebration of Life" album. I urge everyone to get it as it serves a worth cause.
I did my first solo project "Hardest Kind of Memories" last year and have a whole passle of great artists on it.
I write most of my own songs and do some studio work when asked. I currently play for a band called "Bottomline" our newest project is being produced by Don Rigsby and will be out shortly. I sang lead and harmony vocal, wrote four of the 12 tracks and played several guitars on this project.

Just some news

I will be featured on the Red Barn Radio show out of Lexington Ky, March 4. Show starts at seven and I look forward to seeing any friendly faces I can. This will be my first time as part of a writers round and my first time on TV so I will admit to being a bit gun shy.
I will be playing with Ron Rigsby in Franklin TN, every week now so if you around Picketts stop in and say hi.
My next album is under way. I hope to have it finished before the year is out.
Thanks to all who have supported me in m… Continue

More News

Well the ball is rolling fast. Bottomline will have the album out by October. Check for it in stores this year. I will be in the studio next month starting my second solo project. With my plate filling up it will take some time to get finished. I hope and pray that this one will find the same greeting and more than my first album. Look for me on the road folks.

News

The new Bottomline project is finished. We should know about a release date soon. Don Rigsby was the producer on this one. Andy Hall, Julie Reeves, and Don all make some guest spots on the album. I have to say it is really great to not have to go back and do more overdubs.
I will hopefully be in the studio working on my second solo project by this winter. I hope to bring back the same crew that worked on my first one. I have been writing up a storm and this solo project will contain all original… Continue

been awhile since Jed asked the pick question, so probably doesn't care by now, but when i went to a Beppe workshop some years ago, he was using the Dunlop 500 (not the tortex, but the glossy model), pink one... .98 thickness.
