I apologize, I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to throw an old Banjoke onto this thread.

I once had a banjo that I left in the car overnight. The next morning I discovered my car had been broken into. My banjo was still there, along with three other ones.

I had the same problem with 15. Here is the discussion and some offered solutions - http://flatpick.ning.com/group/flatpickingessentials/forum/topics/fingering-for-exercise-15 Cheers, Curtis

I thought your banjo joke was a good one. My dog story was absolutely true--it just sounds like it isn't!

Hi Curtis

Thanks so much for the kind words--glad you were able to derive some enjoyment out or our stuff. Hope all is well out in your neck of the woods.

Best to you,
Dave

Hopefully Wally will get things squared away at Round Hill, 'cause it is one of the best jams in the area.

We went to a 3-day workshop with Wayne Henderson and Robin Kessinger. Two great players! And Wayne is about as down-to-earth as they come.

There's a jam this Sunday that Dirk hosts down at the Sterling Golf and Swim club. Small crowd, held in the clubhouse, but very cordial. I'll forward you the details if you're interested.

Hey, Curtis!! Welcome!! I haven't found anyone on here that I've run into at local jams. THere's a group for Washington DC Area Flatpickers, but not much activity there yet. I'd be more than happy to work on some tunes - you can listen to a few of what I know on my profile page. Enjoyed Round Hill - glad you made it! I did hear, that due to fire restrictions (no more than 49 people inside), that last month may have been the last "open" jam until April, or until they make some structural changes to the building.

There's a weekly Tuesday night jam at the Morningside House Retirement home in Leesburg dfrom 7-8:30P, if you're interested.

Talk to you soon!

Ray

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
