"I don't have any expensive or "boutique" acoustics (I've been an electric collector for years), so all of my acoustics probably classify as "beaters". I do have a little Harmony H-303 that I carry in case of…"

Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish)
My love of music stems from my family. My grandfather, Ken Powers, was an old time fiddle player and my uncle, Gary Shepherd, was the bassist for The Flat Ridge Boys. I taught myself the guitar at age 13 and it has been my life for nearly 10 years. I'm very eclectic when it comes to musical tastes. I'm an accomplished heavy metal guitarist, and I also love playing acoustic blues (fingerstyle). I got out of the competitions for a while and didn't do very much flatpicking at all, and now I'm glad to say that I plan on getting back in to this wonderful art. I play with Brossard Picks (www.brossardpicks.com), and prefer to use picks made of horn as well as ebony.
