I seem to remember Doc Watson picking a Guild sometime backalong maybe it was a 12 string... I think the older Guilds were a bit 'heavy on the shoulder' for long sessions. However some of the newer models seem to be built a lot lighter in their cons…

This tune is played quite often at sessions in our part of the UK. I love playing it. Still trying to find a way of making it sound right in D open position so 'till i do... it's the capo on the 2nd fret.

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case.
It's works really well and fits perfectly…
