Doug, one of the things I have done for years is only tune to the octave harmonic. Doing it this way lets the tuner only have to 'read' half the frequencies. Go put your old tuners on and give it a try and let us know if it works OK?...

Currently, just a guitar "owner", but working hard to be a player. Just started working through Dan Miller's Vol1 lesson book and hope to acquire some skill as a BG rhythm player.

Hi Doug, I'm glad you and Sandy were able to make it to the jam camp. I had a great time and enjoyed the time we were able to spend together. Keep on picking, I look forward to seeing both of you down the road. Thanks, Keith

Hi Mike and welcome. I like that comment about being an owner and working to be a player. Aren't we all? The only differationwhich I would make is that it's more like an adoption or a relationship and it can be a great one.
Come on over to the Beginners Forum and help us have some more discussions.
Welcome again. You will find all kinds of people here and 99% of them are more than willing to help. Especially the "pros" are very gracious.
As for me, I'm in the 1% portion of curmodgeons. Art

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

Sorry to get a little off topic :-( I realized it once I clicked the Add Reply button.. I like what you said about being able to afford a 20 Dollar Hygrometer... if you can spend 4 grand on a box.. and you can't spend the little bit of money on the…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
