Hey, Dudley, ran into a dulcimaer flatpicker at Branson this past weekend and as the conversation turned to great flatpickers, naturally your name came up and I asked if he knew you. Turned out he did, mentioned this ebsite so I thought I'd drop you a line, not having seen you for about thirty years. I do have an old reel to reel tape made at the Sword and Stone that I get out and annoy the dog with sometimes. Glad to hear you are still active and especially glad that you and Deanie are still together. Teren and I split up about twenty-eight years ago, still friends, but i've remaried and have two sons, one 23 and one 17. I still pick some at the local Borders and every so often an art festival here and there. I'm teaching high school English and still havin' fun doing it for the time being. We go up to Branson four or five times a year. Maybe we can swing through Springfield and make a connection for lunch sometime. Getting late so I'll sign off. Hope to hear from you.

Dudley,
Thanks for the quick response!
I don't know how often you have heard this over the years, but "Twin Picking" was, singlehandedly, the most influential body of work in my library, during my first 10 or 15 years as a flatpicker...
Then, a relative newcomer, who hadn't a clue about tablature, I really wanted to learn some things that my dad and I could play together.
So glad that you've got some of them to sell. I'll get you a check in the mail tomorrow...
Thanks!
David

Dudley,
I've seen where a few people have been able to find the "Twin Pickin'" CD.
I too have the original on vinyl, but it's really in bad shape. Would you (or anyone else posting on this thread) be able to direct me as to how I might buy the CD or a Digital Download?
Thanks!
David

Dudley,
I would love to get together and do some picking with you. You have a mastery of the fretboard that I would love to learn. Mike was so inspired from Saturday night that he bought another guitar today.

Hey Dudley,
It's good to see you again. Thanks for the autographs. Its been too long since I've been around anything like that.

Yeah, I met Adam at Kaufman Kamp a few years ago. It's largely his fault I took up flatpicking - still working on the 500 fiddle tunes!

Hi Dan, I'm glad you enjoyed Twin Picking ... it was a fun recording to make and gave me a chance to spend time with Adam. Take care.

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

Sorry to get a little off topic :-( I realized it once I clicked the Add Reply button.. I like what you said about being able to afford a 20 Dollar Hygrometer... if you can spend 4 grand on a box.. and you can't spend the little bit of money on the…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
