"Pyramids either the 328 (hex core) or the Western Folk (round core) will have a softer feel than the Martins....really nice lush tone as well. "

A working man's review of a Whipple Creek Mahogany Dreadnaught

For the last six months I've been waiting for this guitar & wondering just what it would be like. The EIR/Adi dread I heard Robert Bowlin play at Peaceful Bend in May was so I great, I wondered if it was the exception. Well after almost 5 days of playing my Mahogany Dreadnaught, I'm ready to share my thoughts on this new instrument.

This guitar is without doubt the finest sounding new instrument I've ever played. It's loud. The sound is balanced string to string, and note for note all… Continue

Hi Greg..I remember you. Glad to see your still picking away. Have still have my Killer D-18 GE. It's much better than when you heard it last. Prairie Flyer is playing a Sooke River BG Festival on Vancouver Island next month. It would be great if you could make it, but that is a long trip for you. PF is coming out with a new CD soon, so watch the webpage for it. www.prairieflyer.com I see that you still have your D1A. That is one nice guitar. I've bet that sound really good now.

I teach alot now. I have between 15-20 students a week and I play with PF and hire out for other show now and then. Are you in any group? Keep in touch.
Your friend, Steve

Hey Greg,

The cracks close up around these parts. I am taking the guitar with me back east this week to play with the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience. Nice and humid there.

Hey Greg,
PF doesn't have that tune on a CD. I'll talk to Jim about doing it sometime in the future. We will be in Sooke, BC in June. Are you happen to ge going? It's kind of far for you. All my best. Steve

Hey Greg, I'm glad that Jim had that tune for you. I seldom look at the CD's we have so I never sure of all the tunes they have on them. Enjoy the CD. Steve

You will love your D1A varnish. It will open up quickly and sound great.
I think varnish does a lot more for mahogany guitars than rosewood guitars. Enjoy!
