Howard Band here. I've tried them all. And, Red Bear and Wegens are great picks. But, I've settled on Blue Chip. I play the tri corner 40 (about 1 mm I'm told). They are expensive, but worth trying.
Mr. Bricker....Mr. Band here. Are you still interested in picking some fiddle tunes? I wish I could play some gypsy jazz stuff, but I can't (did learn a version of "Minor Swing" though). If you are interested, let me know.

I don't live in Indy...but my in-laws are there and we visit a couple of times a year...
Would LOVE to have some folks to play with.

Howard, are you going to Kamp this year? Hope to see you there and pick again. I will be there week 1 as will Dale Lipsmeyer and Dale Grider, among others.
This year I'm going to Bluegrass Week because of the lineup (check it out). I also went to Kaufman Kamp in June. I'd have liked to take Henderson's class too. I met him once and he was a regular guy.

Missed seeing you at Augusta, maybe next year? wayne Henderson's class was truely an experience. What a nice guy. Got a little better handle on Blackberry now, thanks for your help with that.
I'll definitely be back in Maryville next year, hopefully for another two weeks. That picture of mine was taken by the Glen Canyon Dam on Lake Powell, just outside Page, Arizona. Have fun in Augusta.
Yes, Joe, Dan and I became friends at Kamp last year, and I was able to pick with you a couple of times. Small flatpickin' world. Have a great Independence Day!
Hey Howard. You may remember, we met and picked quite a bit at Kamp last year. Here's hoping you are well, and I'm glad we both found this network. All the best!
Jack... It'll be good to see you and them boys from Texas. I'm also going to Augusta Bluegrass week this year at the end of july. It's a lot different than Kamp, but fun. We have a place in Elkins, WV...so it's fun to go up to it. Maybe we can get together up there sometime. We'll talk about it. Anyway...see you soon.
I plugged in your phone number in my cell phone so if I don't see you around campus, I'll call you. I saw your song list in email. I know a lot of them so we have plenty of picking material. See ya, Jack

Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish)
Been flatpicking for about 15 years. I guess I'm an advanced intermediate player (that is how I register for Kaufman Kamp at least). Wish I were a lot better, but what can you do? I work at it as much as my time allows. I love listening to flatpicked music... On my Sirius Radio, I find myself listening to bluegrass, jazz, and blues. That's pretty much it for me these days. For a time back in the 60s and 70s, I lived accross from the Filmore East, so you can guess what I listened to then. But even then, I was attacted to acoustic rock and any rock with a jazz edge, more than the real "hard" stuff. I'm 59 years old now, which absolutely blows me out. Happily married (2nd time worked out a LOT better for me). We live in Miami and have a place in Elkins, WV which will eventually be our summer home (in 4 years if things work out). That's pretty much is for me.
Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…
Sorry to get a little off topic :-( I realized it once I clicked the Add Reply button..
I like what you said about being able to afford a 20 Dollar Hygrometer... if you can spend 4 grand on a box.. and you can't spend the little bit of money on the…
So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…
I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case.
It's works really well and fits perfectly…
