59 years old and a fan of flat picking guitar since my college days in southern California where I saw everyone from Clarence White to David Nichtern to Norman Blake to Doc Watson. Music collector and amateur guitar picker with rather expensive tastes in guitar. Got a few real nice ones!
Hey Jeff, good to hear from you. I'm on the Flatpick Hangout and MySpace too. Between the three of them I'm noticing a trend - there's lots of "50-somethings" out there flatpicking! Maybe we ought to start our own group. You're welcome to pick my brain whenever you want - that's what I thought these sites were for too. BTW, check out my mp3's. The first three tracks are rhythm tracks for practicing. Let me know what you think - ok? Later, Gary
well Jeff if you're going to be so kind as to include me in your list of faves (with Grier! yikes!) then of course the least I can do is be your friend. Thanks for the nice feedback on the columns... I put a lot of work into them and so of course it's always great to hear that they're helpful.
