That is one of the best arrangements of Forked Deer that I have heard. You are smooth and clean. Nice work, Gary!

Thanks for the conest info Jerry - Boy those must be tough contests to win. Mando and Fiddle do have some advantages. I'm sure it's fun just to be a part of. Do you know of any video available online of these contests. Also I would also love to check out some vids of your playing. I'm new to this site and either there aren't any videos or I'm not smart enough to be able to find them.

I'd love to catch up and maybe take a lesson from you at one of the events you participate at. What's next on the calendar as far as events go?

Jerry,
I have been looking for a West Coast Flatpicking contest, and in my searches I found that you have won the California State Open Picking Championship multiple times.

Can you send me a note with info on what festival the contest takes place at? Thank you VERY much! mark@smashingbanjos.com

Hey Jerry,

Thank you for the kind words!

Yeah, it was great to meet you and your family at the Scott Valley Bluegrass Festival! You and Casey are really good flatpickers!

Maybe next time we see you and your family we could get a chance to pick some!

Hope all is well,

~Paige

Hi Jerry,

There's quite a few to list, but I can name a few of them

Lonesome Fiddle Blues
Beaumont Rag
Farewell Blues
Salt Creek
Big Sciota

And a lot more, but those are my favorite to play.

Hope all is well,
~Paige

Hi Jerry,

Thank you for the nice comment. That's neat that you're going to be at the Scott Valley Bluegrass Festival, maybe we could get a chance to pick then!

Is that your son or student in a couple of you're videos? He's really good!

Is your Big Baby Taylor guitar about the same size as a standard guitar or is it smaller. I'm looking to buy a new guitar and I really like the sound of the Taylor. Thanks, Sheldon

Dan, Going through in detail now, and came to this point again. You diagram on p.67 makes the similarity of the C and D forms clear. Another way I have seen these box patterns named that I also find useful is name them 'string-finger' according to…

been awhile since Jed asked the pick question, so probably doesn't care by now, but when i went to a Beppe workshop some years ago, he was using the Dunlop 500 (not the tortex, but the glossy model), pink one... .98 thickness.
