"Hi Jerry, I'm new to flatpicking though been playing for almost 40 years.
Still kinda rank..... Best times of my life when I have my guitar in my paws.
I operate my own BZ now for 34 years doing interior refurbishment on autos and corporate…"
"Ran into NST about 5 years ago at Lone Star BG Band's birthday party. Met Aubry about 15 years ago then lost track of him. Was good to see him again. Now once again I have lost track your band and him. Thought I saw something in your blog about…"
Glad for you and your business. There are plenty of agencies that will recruit for you for a fee and find you a selection of candidates who might be interested if you give them specifics about job skills desired and wages/salary and…"
It may be the perfect job, however I am an imperfect man and the resulting dissonance makes for a life fraught with gloom, despair, and agony on me; deep dark depression, excessive misery. If you want to hear more just call me at…"
"Don, I saw a couple of shows at Artz. One was with a 40's swing type of band with a girl I graduated with from high school in Michigan. Good music. I'm looking for someone in your area for my business. I'm in the de-regulated energy…"
I'm pretty sure we've never picked together. I've picked at ARTZ Ribhouse in Austin TX a couple of times, but that was about 8 years ago.
Lago Vista is in between Austin and MArble Falls TX."
"Most people would claim I don't actually do any work, anywhere, but I show up at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth on pretty much a daily basis. I sit in a teensy tiny cube right on a noisy aisle, so today I coped by listening to Bryan…"
Is Richmond over by Houston? Pflugerville is for people to live in houses and for growing corn. Not neccessarily in that order. There is not much else here. I work in Austin. My flatpicking time is down to minutes per month. Life is squeezing out a lot of the fun stuff, but it is only for a season. When I do play it is on a baby martin since the dread needs a refret. I have not heard of camp bluegrass. Where and when?
I have several cousins in Augusta. How long has your sister lived there?
She might possibly know some of my kin up there.
I have one guitar, a Matin 000-1R. They don't make these anymore. They were not very expensive, but they have a great tone and volume.
I'm trying to decide which guitar I want next: a 000-18GE, a 000-18NB, or a Gruhn 0000-18.
Thanks, Jerry! Gunter is about halfway between Dallas and Oklahoma. Are you going to be at any festivals up this way any time this year? I'm planning on going to Canton, which is southeast of Dallas, in June.
Which Merrill do you have? I have a '01 C-28, and absolutely love the sound. I'm a flavor chemist in the Dallas area, working with a company producing ingredients for the food industry.
Are you a member of the Bay Area Bluegrass Association? I was down for the Fire On The Strings Festival in Montgomery a couple of weeks ago. There was some great picking at the guitar flatpicking competition.
