Ran into NST about 5 years ago at Lone Star BG Band's birthday party. Met Aubry about 15 years ago then lost track of him. Was good to see him again. Now once again I have lost track your band and him. Thought I saw something in your blog about not playing much. Hope all is well with all of you. Long, long ago I played bass with some Clear Creek folks, sadly I've been out of the BG scene for a while and haven't seen their names mentioned anywhere. Maybe your blog will get my interest up and I can dust off the dust-bunnies on the old stand-up.

Hey Jerry,

Glad for you and your business. There are plenty of agencies that will recruit for you for a fee and find you a selection of candidates who might be interested if you give them specifics about job skills desired and wages/salary and benefits you are offering, etc.....

I'm not in the recruiting business.

Good Luck,

Don

Howdy! Googled Camp Bluegrass. I thought you were talking about something local that I didn't know about. Actually, it came a little after my time at SPC.

Jerry,

It may be the perfect job, however I am an imperfect man and the resulting dissonance makes for a life fraught with gloom, despair, and agony on me; deep dark depression, excessive misery. If you want to hear more just call me at BR-549!

Regards,
Mike

Hey Jerry,

I'm pretty sure we've never picked together. I've picked at ARTZ Ribhouse in Austin TX a couple of times, but that was about 8 years ago.
Lago Vista is in between Austin and MArble Falls TX.

Most people would claim I don't actually do any work, anywhere, but I show up at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth on pretty much a daily basis. I sit in a teensy tiny cube right on a noisy aisle, so today I coped by listening to Bryan Sutton's "Not Too Far From the Tree" (via headphones, of course). Good stuff.

Jerry,

It's way over my head too. IMHO it takes a more better person to run a company (much less two!) than to sit at a desk and fiddle with the keyboard. I may have what it takes to sell fake estate, but real estate? Nothin' doing. But, I plan to retire soon (those on the Camry are getting downright slick!). Oh, you thought I meant retire like in quitting work. Nah, that's another 10-15 years away, daggonit.

Hey Jerry,

Thanks for the welcome. I've been on for about a year, but have been working so heavy (complex and physically demanding job) that I'm completely worn out when i get home. Just have time to pick a little and hit the hay.

I just finsihed my 3week notice and am unemployed as of Friday, so I plan on moving my energies back to music full time. Was a professional lead guitar and singer for 8 years in my youth and can sing better now than ever and love to play bluegrass. I think "Steven" is Steven Crow and we've known each other for 30 years. Played ina few bands together back in the late 60's and 70's. FAbulous bass player and a true musician - extremely creative and unique. He's picking Bluegrass guitar now also. I play piano and mandolin also, but guitar was my first instrument.
Gotta go. p.s I don't get on this site every day so if it's a few days before I respond again, totally no offense intended. I just hate spending time on a computer.

Jerry, merci beaucoup. I play an entry level Martin commensurate with my entry level expertise. You're from the land of B. J. Thomas (or thereabouts). I grew up in Hallettsville and my wife is from Edna. I've been an aerospace (structural) engineer for nigh on 28 years now. What do you do? Mike

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
