- Grew up in Arkansas, played Rockin' Roll till 1970, got married, became an Architect, raised 3 kids, became a professor, moved to Oklahoma, wrote a book on Route 66, and now attempt to play guitar again.

Mike Pullen said… - Hey John, Thanks alot about the info on th OKC Traditional Music Association. I'm going to check that out. I work every other weekend so that cuts the times I'm free in half but I'd drive once a month if I had a group of flatpickers. I have a good friend in Ponca City who is an excellant flatpicker named Dave Hart. He also teaches guitar. If your ever over that way He would love to pick. just tell him I mentioned it. Maybe I could convince the Womacks of davis you really are kin then you could have a reason to get in the neighborhood. By the way, Beppe Gambetta will be in Davis on january 8. I know that's OU-Florida night but I'm going to record the game and go to the concert. it's a great place for a concert at the Laville Inn,up close and unplugged. The flatpicking will come before the ballgame for me and I don't expect many people there. To have a flatpicker in this little town is a huge deal to me. Just thought I'd holler at another Okie, I was wondering if you might know some Womacks that live near me . Wayne Womack in Davis. no one close to me to pick with unless you want to play pop. That's ok but I would like to have a flatpicker about my level (not to good) to play with. Keep picking and give me a shout sometime. Mike Pullen

been awhile since Jed asked the pick question, so probably doesn't care by now, but when i went to a Beppe workshop some years ago, he was using the Dunlop 500 (not the tortex, but the glossy model), pink one... .98 thickness.
