"Hi Lora, welcome to the Ear Learning group. Has been quiet here for a while, but I think an important subject that is not well addressed on the 'other site'. Specifically, I'd like to find guidance for how older people can actively…"
This group is for those interested in learning to play what they hear. All levels welcome - hope the advanced can help the beginners. TAB'ers are welcome too, whether looking to change their ways or simply interested in the discussions.
A group dedicated to those who use Red Bear picks. We'll share news from the Red Bear shop, talk about maintaining your pick in top shape, getting different tones from your Red Bear picks, announce new colors and anything else pertaining to your pick
Just checking in with the group . . . I am still trying to focus on the FE series but got off on a tangent. I am planning to get the new DVD video, "Creating Solos: Embellishing the Melody". Hopefully that…"
"Thank you, Gannon. I will check out ASD. I have quite a number of songs recorded from local jams. Slowing them down would certainly come in handy to help learn versions unique to this area. Sandy River Belle is played in D around these parts, for…"
"Hi Jim, Thanks for your thoughts on practicing!
As for good music events . . . if you are in the Asheville, NC area, be sure to check out Shindig on the Green. It runs every Saturday night until September (every Saturday except this coming…"
"Hi Gannon, Thank you for keeping us going! I am ready to move on as well.

2006 Takamine TAN16C (all solid spruce and rosewood cutaway with Cool Tube preamp)
The tone on the vintage Takamine is exceptional, and the sound possibilities from the newer one…"

"I agree with Ganon -- I need some songs to help motivate me. I started attending local jams again. I made a list of common tunes and will work on laying out the chords so I can practice the songs before attending again. This area of western North…"
Hi Lora, welcome to the Ear Learning group. Has been quiet here for a while, but I think an important subject that is not well addressed on the 'other site'. Specifically, I'd like to find guidance for how older people can actively improve their 'analytical' hearing. Seems many of those that are good at it assume that it just happens 'organically' with enough exposure - I'm not so sure.

"Just added the Taylor K22e to my collection. Physically, it is the most beautiful guitar that I have ever seen. The lovely KOA and maple combinations are literally breathtaking. The KOA and boxwood ocean vine inlay on the fret board is striking, as…"
