Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish)
well, I'd like to say "head on down to my web site and read more", but fact is, I'm more than a little ashamed in its current condition, having not been really updated since 2001 or so. But! we are on the case, and it shouldn't be too long now! Check-in every couple weeks, and one day soon, you'll see a whole new layout, and all new photos(taken with a high resolution Canon DSLR), captions, sections, and perhaps even a real biography this time.

promise!

Phillipe! It is great to see you here. Do you NOT know of The Bottine? Say it isn't so?!? One of the greatest bands of all time, no matter what the language.

Most translations I've heard refers to them as "The Smiling Boot" .

why do these cedar topped Cocco's sound so good?

I think the warmth of the cedar top works well with the cocobolo, which can be very bright, to the point of being harsh at times. I work the cocobolo toward a warmer response when combined with spruces, but let it do its bright/harsh thing when combined with the cedar, whose warmth takes the "edge" off the cocobolo.

I can tell ya, it's hard to put it down and pickup another. Played a wedding last week in Ashville, NC ....cedar top all the way. This coco and my new cutaway are hands down great guitars!

Mario! Good buddy! Sorry I'm not going to be at Kamp this year. Will be sitting sadly in a corner, looking at the Zoom H2 I bought for Kamp. Ah, well. Have a great time nevertheless and say howdy to your effervescent bride!

I had thought we might have some time to talk about this guitar I'd like to build, but we'll email when you get back to Canada.

For sure Doc! We'll have the coffee again, if you can figure out how to climb through the window once more
Marty, I've not met Charmaine yet; should I be worried? We DO need to get together and swap a few tunes, for sure; you bringing a banjo to jam with?

been awhile since Jed asked the pick question, so probably doesn't care by now, but when i went to a Beppe workshop some years ago, he was using the Dunlop 500 (not the tortex, but the glossy model), pink one... .98 thickness.
