( say hi to Roberto for me )
Sorry you won't be here in northern CA but do let me know if future plans bring you out here. It'd be great to pick!
I'm really enjoying your CD that I bought at Kamp last summer. As part of my learning process ahead of Kamp 09, am trying to get a few fiddle tune leads under my belt & I really like "Fiddlers dram" on your album - is there a beginner/intermediate tab you could recommend for me on this one? I have tried googling & the only thing coming up is a very simple Doc Watson version that doesn't sound much like your version which I really like.
thanks & hope to see you at Kamp

Last night I was looking up Robert Earl Keen's song, "Til I can Get Some Rest" Your CD and particularly that song must have gotten at least 3-4 hours of the 11 hour trip back from my first Kamp in 2001.
You were so kind to me ( rank beginner back then) 3 months into Flatpicking. You mentioned Rich Starkey during class. Rich had done a Martin seminar in my hometown about a year before and mentioned a duet album. After class, I mentioned that I had been looking for it and couldn't it. Did you know who the othe person was. Your rely was "That was Me" and if I couldn't find it to contact you. You didn't have any business cards, but said hat you'd go up to your room and get me one and if I couldn't find it to contact you. On the way to the very next class, you gave me your card.
I was totally floored!I couldn't believe that a Winfield winner and premiere instructor would go out of his way to treat a rookie like me so great.
Youalong with Rllie and all of the other staff were so open and welcoming that it made me a Kamp regular. But, mainly it was that first encounter wth you in my second or third class! Thanks!
It was great to finally meet Mo last year.
BTW, I thought one of the 3 best concerts I heard last year were you and Robin and ??? jamming on the steps outside of Beeson one night.
Let me know if you, or you and Roberto ever come through the mid-west. I can prob help you fill an off night. Happy New Year. May it be a great one. Art
