Retired educator- coach, teacher, administrator. Recovering banjo player. Went to Winfield in '94 and got hooked on flatpicking and guitars in general. Began building guitars in '95 as a strategy to begin learning how to repair. Built a shop at my house. Opened a Radio Shack franchise/cell phone/music store in '99. Have owned, sold and repaired lots of nice guitars. The Walnut Valley Festival is the highlight of my year. Pick with a camp(One Fret Away) composed of doctors, lawyers, engineers, and an aging football coach (me). I am a charter subscriber to Flatpicking Guitar Magazine and have every issue and CD. Have 3 daughters, a son and 9 grandchildren, all within striking distance.

Mickey,

I remember signing that guitar. It's cool some of those other names that share that with mine. How are things going down in your area? I remember playing the Ok Traditional Music function, I had a nice time. Good to hear from you, maybe see you down the road again sometime.

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
