Had a great time at Kamp and seems like everytime I turned around someone from St. Paul would comment about knowing you or taking lessons from you. Can't hardly wait for Winfield, and congratulations on the new family addition!

Looked for you at Winfield. Saw the Prairie Acres crew including the Missouri connection (Nathan) and Montana Jack. Both those kids are tearing it up. Got to do a lot of pickin' at Coyote camp...are you on that site?

Hey Mike, How are things going? Are planning on competing in the Flatpick Contest next weekend? As of right now it looks like I'm going to take another stab at it. I know there's no chance of me winning, but it's more of a personal thing of just getting up there and doing it.

This summer has been very busy. Haven't done alot of jamming except over at Al's shop on an occasional Saturday. We'll have to link up sometime this fall.

National Guitar Workshop - sounds like a great gig how did you hook up with that?

I'm up to around 30 students this summer. Not too heavy and very enjoyable. Lot's of beginners. I'm also working up a uke course for young children. Mechanics are pretty much the same and it develops strength for the guitar/mandolin/banjo later.

Kilby's workshop was good - it suffered from the fact that I didn't really have time to promote it. He called me and I had a family reunion - just killed any participation I could have.

Hey Mike, I had a great time jamming with you guys last year at camp. Too bad I no longer live in South Dakota.

Teaching's going well, I have about 30 students. I found a place to teach in a nearby town at a community college so that helped quite a bit. Doing lots of playing. I do expect to be at Winfield, but first comes Kamp!

Dan, Going through in detail now, and came to this point again. You diagram on p.67 makes the similarity of the C and D forms clear. Another way I have seen these box patterns named that I also find useful is name them 'string-finger' according to…

been awhile since Jed asked the pick question, so probably doesn't care by now, but when i went to a Beppe workshop some years ago, he was using the Dunlop 500 (not the tortex, but the glossy model), pink one... .98 thickness.
