An HD28 Built for me by Preston Thompson. An absolute awsome guitar. And a 1979 Martin HD-28 because my Dad gave it to me.
Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish)
When my 3 kids were growing up we had a family band which played alot around Okla.I never picked much back then but am trying to do it now.I was rhythm and kids were the pickers. I'm slow but I am working on it.I booked the bands for The Davis Bluegrass Festival which was an event to aid underpriveledged kids in our county.I learned the hearts of the bluegrass crowd through this. I try to turn on anyone I can to flatpicking, especially the old fiddle tunes.

Hey Mike. I don't get down your way much, but I get together once in awhile with Kevin Petray and Don Hudiburg from Stillwater. You might know those guys. Anyway, give me a shout in advance when you're coming through here and I'll have you over to pick a few. Later, Gary

Mike,
My name is Dave Blakeslee. I'm working on the website for Preston's 'new' guitar business. Do you think I could get a photo of your Thompson HD28 to publish on the 'history' portion of the website?
The website, by the way, is www.pkthompsonguitars.com.

Thanks,

Dave

Hey Mike, I buy from Sweetwater Music a lot. Great sales staff and prices, plus free shipping. Find them online. They have the H2N. I am also digitally impaired :-), so trust me, these are easy to get the hang of. Laid out with common sense in mind. You'll be just fine with it.

Mike, yes the H2 is excellent for those types of applications. Zoom has introduced a newer and better model called the H2N. It's got a few more features that are user friendly, and it's priced well. I'd go with the H2N. Enjoy it!

Hey Mike,--Thank you for the welcome. I've visited here often and actually thought I had signed up years ago, but no. MY guitar was made by a solo guy back in the '70's. It's called Osage Valley. Nice tone, loud but heavy; I mean it's like picking up a chair. The back and side are made of walnut. You need a dolly to carry it around. not really

Hey Mike, thanks for introducing yourself. I would love to see Beppe in person, but I'll be staking out my table at the top floor of the Vista to watch the game with the rest of the Soonerites. Meanwhile, you ought to come to the OKlahoma Bluegrass Club show in Del City Junior High (on Linda Lane) tomorrow night (Saturday 7-9:30). Most of our band will be jamming in the halls. Come on by and we'll howdy at ya, and you can make fun of my g-run like everybody else does. There is usually a slow jam somewhere as well, if you want to take a break in a less intimidating atmosphere. BTW, our bass player screwed up and made the website go down. Hope to see you around. We're booked to play the Davis festival in 2009, I think.

Hey Mike, Afton is way up in the far northeast corner of the state. There arent many flatpickers up here either, seems like we're all scattered across the state.
