I've been playing guitar and writing my own music for years. Performing for weddings and special events.
I give guitar lessons to adults and youth and thus, I'm always looking to broaden my music base. My family is from Scotland, and I grew up with the family in a circle playing and pickin' together. I began my musical life on the accordian, so is there any wonder I turned to the guitar? I've most comfortable performed as part of a group. My wonderful husband has been a great source of encouragement...(actually standing behind me giving a heave-ho push to get me out the door to do some solo gigs :) Thus, I've performed here and there solo as well. I am familiar with flatpicking, but am a long way from even a mediocre level. I hope to learn more.

Lady Scott,
I hope you don't mind the intro, promise I won't overdo it. OK back at the ranch, Will the title names work and what else can I do to get more info to you? Some times the musician has made it's popularity. Put that with it also, and some web sites. I don't have the experience as you at playing but has been in my heart and soul for at least 35 years plus but haven't had the push to do it until 2 or 3 yrs ago. Then I eat it up like hot home made biscuits. Had a lot of classes and work here to do and haven't practiced any but want to real bad. Probably tomorrow I can do something. Will work more on the info for you in a few minutes. Would an email work better for sending to you? Take care,
Ray

Hi Nancy! Great to hear from you, I will look through my files and pull something for you. Some of my information is written into the music for guidance. I take it that you came here when you were very young. I think its neat to talk to someone with common interests. We could help each other with the interests we have and talents. Friend of mine this week end discussed his youth of being in NY in the 60's he went to a village, in a hangout of young inspiring musicians. he played drums, and one guy asked him to come to the back room and was introduced to a couple of fellows, one had stringy reddish hair with two different colored tennis shoes on said his name was Joe Walsh, Glenn Frye, Don Henley was there also. I would give a brass monkey to be there then. Take care

I guess three times is enough LOL! Do you have any of your Scottish accent? I definitely don't My accent is original and is from the mountains/Rockingham County,N.C. Charlie Poole is the old time banjo player around 1910 and lived here in Rockingham County. Back then they were called String Bands. Google Charlie Poole and The North Carolina Ramblers. I shut up for now LOL! Take care

Nancy, just remembered a movie to watch that gives a person a real good feel for the old music from the Appalachian mtns. and through the years before. Has lots of music, a story line and history. "The Song Catcher" Netflix has it and the sound tracks are great, "Song Catcher", and "Song Catcher II" Has lots of well known singers in it. Talk to you later

Hi Nancy!
Great to get some more mail, One of the songs I was going to learn was Classical Gas 2 yrs ago while taking some lessons from a retired musician that played some with Charlie Daniels Band. Stairway to heaven is a "Trip" . I have lots of favorites in rock and classic rock. My songs and collection has grown in the last 3 yrs. Rock, Country, Blue Grass, old time tunes. I made my own Mountain Dulcimer 2 yrs ago and play several old traditional tunes. Would love to share what I have with you and don't hesitate to give me a holler again. I'm still at Fort Bragg area until tomorrow and will send something soon as I can. I might add that You're a cute Lassie! I'm thinking of some of the tunes that might be good but if you have a couple of ideas then give me a shout. Do you want it in tabs or notation? All my stuff is in paper but can try and get it to something, or may be do it through mail. I just got in 30 minutes ago but I'll be up a while.

Hi Nancy, It was great to hear from you. I seem to spend a lot of time doing things and have almost forgotten the social network on FPGM. You may have to give me some insight on where your'e at in the flat pckng. I'm a novice at this point but would love to share the time. email is sreagle2004@yahoo.com and sreagle2003@gmail.com. I'm in Fayetteville, N.C. near fort bragg military base for the week end. I will check the site again in the morning or evening. Thanks again for the friendship. Ray
