I'm new around here, but I have a '72 D35 and and '05 000-28 NB. The D35 is an adequate box, but I find that I have hardly played it since getting the Norman Blake - it is something special, both the way it sounds and the way it feels in my lap.

Hi Paige! Nice to hear from you! Marcy Marxer emailed me and suggested that you do some writing for the magazine. If you'd like to submit a tab and recording, I'd be willing to print it. Let me know.

The Clarence White's are nice. I wouldn't be opposed to having one, though, I would like to try a few Taylors. A Collings D-1, D-2, or OM-2H would be nice as well. I'm not picky, I've just never had a "new" guitar, and I would love to be the musician that gets to "break one in." I still wouldn't trade my 18 for anything.

Yeah, I'm a little spoiled that way. I play my 18 the most, though. There isn't much call for a 12-string in anything we do. I really would like to get a newer 28 cut-away or a Collings OM-2H or OM-2HA. I was at a Kaufman workshop in Lawrence, KS about a week ago and he was playing an OM-2H.
What do you think you're looking for next?

Thanks, Paige. They look like a nice, convenient size. I will check them out.

Take care.

Hi Paige. I was wondering what type of electronic tuner you are using in the photos. Looks like the whole band has them.

I've been playing for about 2 years now. Seems like I got into it a little late. Everyone around me has been playing for at least 4 years.

How long have you been playing?

I SO agree that most of our technique builders are already in the tunes we play. However one I give my students (and use myself) is scale sequencing. Starting with a G major scale, giving each note a number (1, 2, 3 = G, A, B etc.) A USEFUL seque...

Curtis - Thanks! Somehow I missed it. Dan's solution seems perfect, but something I never would have thought of while trying to work it through. -Bruce
Apogee has announced what appears to be a poor man's version of the Duet that will do one input at a time, for a list price of $249. I'm seriously tempted. see http://www.apogeedigital.com/products/one.php
