You can get that album at the Rounder Records website (www.rounder.com). Of course, since I want it right this minute, that doesn't help me much!

Tom, Yes, I did get ""Old Time (with) Fiddle and Guitar" on iTunes. And right you are, it's now shown as a "partial album" not available. I wonder what gives there; it's not like a physical item that can be shipped. And it's not available on Amazon…

Peter, Did you find Clark Kessinger's "Old Time Fiddle and Guitar" on iTunes? I just tried and they said it wasn't available in the US.?? Odd... Thanks, Tom

In many recordings even the best rhythm guitar is difficult to hear even with the best sound equipment. When the guitar can be heard, say on a G run (assuming that you're listening to bluegrass), latch on to the sound of the run and try to follow th…

If anyone wants to be able to hear a lot of old-time fiddle music, with some great guitar playing, for Free, check out this site. There are a lot of old tunes that you can listen to, especially a lot of Riley Puckett. http://www.1001tunes.com/ Che…

Thanks for the heads up on Jim Nunally. I just got his Gloria's Waltz album on iTunes. Mostly songs and perfect playing "to sell the song." Jim's guitar is right up front in the mix so you can hear what he's doing and man is it good! Simple but with…

I ordered a Skillet Lickers CD and a Charlie Poole CD today. Really want to work on that old time rhythm - I love the way it sounds with all the movement on the bass strings. Dan

Hey Peter,
Welcome to Flatpicking Guitar Network. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I live in an area where there are no flatpickers and everyone scratches their heads and says what's that when I bring it up so thats what makes this site great. It gives me others to converse with and that helps keep me inspired. This site has helped me alot. Although I've played off and on for years I can only chord a little and am just learning to flatpick. I wish I had started young but better late than never. Welcome. Mike Pullen

An intermediate late-starter who sometimes wishes I had got the bug when I was young. Took up the fiddle, too...

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

Sorry to get a little off topic :-( I realized it once I clicked the Add Reply button.. I like what you said about being able to afford a 20 Dollar Hygrometer... if you can spend 4 grand on a box.. and you can't spend the little bit of money on the…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
