Came to flatpicking late (mid 30's). Inspired by my first Doc concert. Play in a local bluegrass band and enter Wayne Henderson's festival most every year. I've learned a lot from the wonderful Mr Steve Kilby.

Hi friends, I've been gone a long time from the network, but looks like I'll be able to play more nowadays. I had the most fabulous week of instruction in my life when I took Russ Barenberg's Advanced Guitar class at Augusta back in August. He got me unstuck - now I know how to impove. Russ does skype lessons now - I'd encourage you to take advantage.

Hi anyone, I have posted a version of Blackberry Blossom (arrangement is largely Rick Williams from bluegrassbooksonline.com - check him out, good stuff) which is about half of what I want to play in Wayne Henderson's contest. I'm smoothing out a version were I change to drop D for one more go around.

Also, there's a version of "Homestead on the Farm" that I was inspired to do for my mother. I made a CD for her on her 70th birthday as she deals with advancing dementia.

Hope to see many of you… Continue

hi LJ, you were the only guy to mention then euphonon strings. i have been using them for years and you certainly can't beat the price. since I'm ready to order another 2 doz. sets would you please tell me what gauges you choose for your true mediums. i've got two of Walter's guitars which i am very fond of but last april i bought a traditional Brazilian dread from Huss & Dalton and have simply never played such an incredibly loud, clean and well defined sounding guitar and i have always made it a point to plan any and all guitars i've been able to get my paws on. i've also found i love the sound and feel i get from the red bear picks. better than my real tortis shell. Hi Rick, Nice to hear from you. I got to see Dan last year in Denver with another old Kokomo Bro, Tim Moody. I still record and perform with Vince Gill and off and on with the Irish group the Chieftains and have been produced Mike Ckeveland last three cd's. Take care, Jeff
