i'm a fan of all that country music, beginning from johnny cash, i got to know june carter and the carter family and finally i arrived to know a bit about bluegrass while i fell in love with a song: jimmy brown the newsboy i heard on the earl scruggs essential. but so i met norman blake at youtube and now i only want to understand even more about this music. norman, i know, respects the originality of this bluegrass staples and old time songs, and i am happy to feel this, even as an european!

12/09 fear and trust

i'd like to know you better
i0m watching for a sunshine
sparkling fire like me
i don't need someone who only has a seed

i never know right love and forgiveness
i have to learn to take away my fear

i like to lesten to you now
often as i could and read your mind
i have to know you give some trust
if not, i only will give you for lost

i never know right love and forgiveness
i have to learn to take away my fear
please don't let off my hand
please don't go away
i'd like to have you always near...

it's raining without some sunshine
that feels like the worst mirror of mine
but i await a rainbow
without much faith to show

maybe color feels better
the rain is getting me so dark
there's no contrast inside me
i'm only feeling bad

let's come in the sunshine
get along being a friend of mine
it will change all some day
we'l get along…

"Interestingly, before I was smitten by the Martin bug my first decent guitar was a Levin Goliath Blonde, I guess it was the nearest to a D28, looking, that I could find. I had it a few years and toured with it until I acquired a Martin D28"

Vegen Bluegrass Pick

A year back, a friend sent me a couple of these picks over from the States, they are, without doubt, the best picks I have ever used and having played for 50 years, I've had a few. Highly recommendedSee More

"What is the big deal with speed April Ruth Jordan? Surely, tone, timbre and intonation are far more important. My favourite flatpick guitarist has for a long time been Norman Blake. There is something so unassuming about his approach and style but,…"
