Hello, Thomas, your guitar says Gypsy Jazz..loved playing and singing Jazz in "Swing Town" at Galax Festival last weekend. Headed out today to Fries VA, small festival, guitar contest, etc., and sometimes a good group of Irish jamming. Look forward to hearing you play sometime. I'm not the camper type., but going to try it at Fries, rather than drive back to Roanoke, VA.

Play nice!

I am just a bluegrass and country blues flatpicker at this point, Thomas, and I do play with a great Django group called -- the "Well Hungarians", but only as the upright bass player, thanks for the add, maybe you know some of the well-hungs? Would love to hear you sometime soon - Django is an inspiration to me..Love Pierre Lagrene and Birelli, -

Hi Tom,
Thompson guitars were introduced to me by Robin kessinger who has 3 himself. Robert Shafer has 2 or 3 and I know Mark Cosgrove has 1 or 2.A guy that is a neighbor and a friend has one. He loved mine and he had to have one. I've heard mine side by side with a new D-28, no comparsion. Mine has more bass than most I've heard, but that's the way I like it. They are loud also. Plenty of sustain too. last Xmas Curtis Jones (google him) from Atlanta and 2 of his friends came up toWV and 5 guitars from Bob.Go back a couple of issues of Flat Pick Guitar magazine and there's and article on Bob Thompson. I shot the photo that's in the article (chuckle). Right now you're getting a $3500 to $5000 guitar (at least) for $2500. Well worth the investment if you have the money right now. His phone is 304-273-3135. Tell him I recommended him to you.

Hi, Thomas, just finished with morning guitar students here. Hope all is well where you are. In reference to the local music scene, the economy has taken it's toll. The Taubman Museum has musicians on Sunday afternoons, I'll be there on Sun. sept 6th, I'm sure the general public will be out enjoying the holiday weekend...boo hoo! Then I have a Festival later in Sept. scheduled and a gig at the Center In The Square in Rke. in October, and that's pretty much it. We have a great Blues Restuarant that features class acts. OH, yeah, and ZZ top is coming to Rke! :) My daughter has tickets! I'll send the ear plugs with her!

I call my self the "Closer" ha! :) when it comes to nice restuarants, cough, choke, I won't say just how many! Restuarants will have music to increase business and sometimes it is already too late and they don't have the ability to sustain, and the next think you know....they are closed!

Anyhoooo, lunch next on the menu here, and I teach again tonight, keep in touch. Cheryl

What a great time I had, I am only an "aspiring hepcat", a beginner, but it was surprising that we have such a fabulous group, practically neighbors to DC!
