Freja is soon coming home again

My daughter Freja has had a great year at ETSU. It was tough in the beginning, but she has slowly learned how things are organised at a University. The other day she found a clip of herself on Youtube. First week she arrived at the school, she had the chance to sing one song with the schools Bluegrass Band at a show in Kingsport. We didn't think we would have a chance to see that, but someone had filmed it and it showed up on Youtube. The school has a great band as you can see. Here is the clip:… Continue

Freja met the man - Tony Rice

Here is an update on my daughter at ETSU. She went with friends from school down to IBMA in Nashville. She gets to do all the fun things I would have wanted to do. Way back since Freja was small, we have been listening to Tony Rice in the car. My two other daughters usually complain, but once in a while I and Freja can listen to what we want to. I have never had the chance to see Tony Rice, but always whished that I may have the chance some day. I told Freja before she left for IBMA that she sho… Continue

K & K Mic

I ordered a new K&K Mic the other day. Thought it would be interesting to install it by myself. Instructions were very clear so it was no problem, except enlarging the hole for the endpin. I enlarged it by using larger and larger drillbits. 8 and 10 mm. went fine but the 12 mm was difficult. Turned out that 12 mm was more than my two drills could handle. Had to borrow my neighbours drill. It was a powerful drill that jumped every time I pressed the start button. So I couldn't hold it against… Continue

ETSU

Most of the time I jam at night with my oldest daughter. But now she is off. She has started studies at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. She is studying at their Bluegrass program, so we are very excited about that. It is a great chance for her. I uploaded som pictures of guitarpickers that she has met sofar after she arrived. It is a big step to travel so far away when you are 18, but she has been doing great sofar.

Hi all, I hold the pick pretty much like #2, which gives me more power. I have a suggestion. If you want to try a change in technique, like changeing pickposition. It is much easier to try the new technique on new tunes (tunes that are new to you o…

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

Sorry to get a little off topic :-( I realized it once I clicked the Add Reply button.. I like what you said about being able to afford a 20 Dollar Hygrometer... if you can spend 4 grand on a box.. and you can't spend the little bit of money on the…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
