I like the kind "amps" that involve a mic and mixing board ;) but, i have a K&K mini w/ vintage jack in my Collings D1A from there I usually go into a LR BAGGS DI dox and then to the board (i usually do this as a safety backup in case the sound guy…

Mike, what's your signal chain? specifically, AFTER the micpres, where does the signal go? are you going into a mixer then into a computer, directly into a breakoutbox that converts the audio to digital (like ones made by motu,apogee,m-audio,etc..)…

How much can you spend? You could get a nice used pair of Adam A7's for around $700-800. now they have the A5's for around $400. I like the JBL LSR3400's it comes with room correction software [like ARC} and that is truly wonderful! Bryan

Any one where I don't have to play the melody EXACTLY they way someone played it 50 years ago. I love tradition, but music has to grow!

Tell us more about yourself (place a Bio here if you wish)
I was born in New Orleans, moved to texas when I was 2 and grew up in Dallas.

I began my professional career as the opening act for guitarist Larry Carlton. I went to University of Southern California (BM, DMA), and University of Texas (MM), I do session work in Los Angeles and Nashville, and collaborate with dance troupes, spoken word artists, score for film and TV, and produce.

I've had the opportunity to perform/open for the Dixie Dreggs, Bonnie Raitt, Lisa Loeb, and jazz greats Larry Carlton, and Scott Henderson.

Right now, you can hear my TV/Film music on ESPN, VH1, Lifetime Network, WB Network, the History Channel, and the Food Network.

My bluegrass quartet – Honeywagon – has released 3 CDs on CMH records. Our 2nd release “Green Day, Blue Grass” spent over 80 weeks on the Billboard Bluegrass Top 15 Chart.

I have a new double CD coming out in August titled "Gossip, Inspiration, and Slander". 1 CD is Americana, the other a bluegrass version. More info on my website: see link below

I also am a faculty member at Belmont University School of Music in Nashville, Tennessee where he teaches jazz harmony, composition, history of American song, and arranging.

I Love: Collings Guitars, Elliot Capos, Pro Pick Fingerpicks, Red Bear Flatpicks.

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
