This group is for those that have recently started working with Dan Miller's Flatpicking Essentials Series, and want to share their thoughts and support each others development. General idea is, as a group, to actively work through F.E. together.
A companion forum to my column in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine. Discussion will include fingerboard harmony, practice techniques, swing and jazz styles, all with a goal of achieving constant improvement.

I grew up listening to the Grand Ole Opry on WSM out of Nashville as a youngster. Through the years, I kept a guitar close by and never forgot those old tunes that made me tap a foot and grin from ear to ear.
I play those tunes whenever I get the chance. I hope I get a chance to pick with as many of the folks here on the Flatpicking Network as I can. Thanks to all of you for inspiring me to continue "Picking."

I play two-thirds of a guitar. I have some wrist issues with fretting the 6th string. I enjoy finger picking but have been an avid follower of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine for about 6 years. I find Dan Huckabee's beginners arrangements great for the bari-uke. I have also found much of Adam Granger's work suits my DGBE tuning.I once took a class from Dan Miller in Palo Alto, California and he told me that his daughter was playing the baritone uke. I have e-mailed Adam about his new FGM…See More
"I have a left handed Blue Chip TAD 3R 40 pick and I find it a great pick to use, no scraping and quick on the strings. The only problem is that the tone is quite bass-y which is great for lead picking or Mandolin but not so good for rhythm…"
