I play two-thirds of a guitar. I have some wrist issues with fretting the 6th string. I enjoy finger picking but have been an avid follower of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine for about 6 years. I find Dan Huckabee's beginners arrangements great for the bari-uke. I have also found much of Adam Granger's work suits my DGBE tuning.
I once took a class from Dan Miller in Palo Alto, California and he told me that his daughter was playing the baritone uke. I have e-mailed Adam about his new FGM…

I got the letter that many of you probably got from Dan Miller stating that this will be his 20th and last year of producing this really quality product. I just started with flatpicking a year ago and quickly renewed yesterday but he needs TONS more subscriptions. There are literally over 4000 members here. Can we spread the word and if you could spare the cost of a subscription could you call right now and subscribe?
Here is the number 1-573-823-5582

Howdy Pickers,
I just wanted to invite everyone to check out this blog I have created for Bluegrass guitar players. It will involve a 3 part lesson series every month. A new tune or technique will be explored taking you from easy to advanced. I really think it will help the intermediate player looking to hone in his/her skills on the guitar. each lesson (which is free) will have text/tab/video! So, it should be very helpful and easy to follow. If you have any questions…

Evening all. Can't believe I'm writing instead of playing. Like I might have something to say that is of interest to anyone else. Spending time with an old acoustic friend just leads me to think of what all a guitar can accomplish. Fact (or myth) has it that the first guitar ever in North America landed here in my locale in the late 1500's, arriving with the French Huguenots at nearby Ft. Caroline. Something between a lute and the early gut-stringed classicals. Even if the intonation…

I've been looking for jammers for a long time on whatever bluegrass instruments. Would like to hear from anyone interested. I have a decent repertoire and skills but need an outlet to make all the "woodshedding" worthwhile. .

I've been having great fun using the tune list to prepare for my Peter Wernick's Bluegrass jamming workshop at the Coombs Bluegrass festival to work through the homework assingnments Dan Miller has given in Flatpicking Essentials Volume One. I'm still pretty much on page 17. I'm having so much fun working with the metronome that I haven't even really worried about moving on yet. I''ll get there this week, though. You can see my musings about my progress or lack thereof at my blog…

The Adam Schlenker article in the recent Flatpicking Guitar magazine was great! Adam really knows his craft and explains it in a manner that's easy to grasp and apply. I hope to see much more from him in the future as he is the best!
