Father's Day weekend in CA...

Just heading back home from a weekend in CA. Father's Day Fest in Grass Valley (missed Dan Miller -he was in VA), and Huck Finn Jubilee in Victorville. Disappointed that the Roy Rogers Museum has been moved from Victorville to Branson, MO. Happy to have seen Paige Anderson (hope you're feeling better Paige), heard Molly Tuttle and the Tuttle band, and visited with my buddy Mike Wilhoyte, always a good time. Also good to hear the Grascals and nice to hear Sawmill Road and Blue and… Continue

Schizo guitarist trying to focus

I love the guitar and have been playing now for 30 years (off and on), but my biggest struggle has always been trying to focus on a style for any length of time. I love fingerstyle the most, but I also love acoustic flatpicking, jazz/swing, rockabilly, blues, heavy metal, etc. Given the limited time to practice, with 14 hour work days and commute, I guess I feel like I'm just scratching the surface with each style, although I try to focus practice time as much as possible. Thankfully, there is… Continue

Using a Metronome

Hello to all.

How do you use a Metronome. I understand this is a very good tool for timing, I have 2 Metronomes, I turn them on and they go tick tock tick tock etc. I understand their importance. All kidding aside. What would be a good set-up for practice.

ACOUSTIC NIGHT 9

Review by Damiano Verda

Ninth edition for Beppe Gambetta Acoustic Night who closes one more time the season at the Teatro della Corte in Genova, Italy.

The title chosen by Gambetta for this year show “Rendez-vous” alias “meeting” seems to be really proper.

A meeting for the audience with high quality music, with fantastic performers, with sounds going with lightness and imagination from Brazilian… Continue

Norman's Preferences

I saw a video in which Norman discussed why he preferred a certain fret when refretting one of his Martin's. I am about to refret my D-35 Martin, and I would like to know if anyone remembers a video in which Norman discusses his choice over the Frets Martin uses. Thank You.7See More
