New at Flatpickdigital.com!

We have just added a few PDF instructional books, and the audio files to Brad Davis' popular Flatpick Jam accompaniment series, to the list of downloadable items at flatpickdigital.com. Two of the downloadable books are FGM compilations and provide the best Flatpicking instruction you'll find for the money (a ton of great material). You can check out the new additions here:… Continue

Flatpicking Guitar Magazines and CDs

I exchanged e-mails with Dan Miller on this matter and he suggested I blog it, so here goes.

I have recently moved and find myself downsizing a number of things.

I have every Flatpicking Guitar magazine ever printed plus all the accompanying issue CDs (when they started) and I find myself needing to find a new home for this material. It is all in great shape having been kept in a climate controlled and smoke-free environment.

I don't know what this material… Continue

Flat pick on the Eastern Shore of VA

Sure would like to play more fiddle tunes and less Bluegrass with other folk. I'm curious to see if I might hear from anyone in this area. I do manage to leave home and get a good dose going to Allegheny Echoes, Augusta, etc. But. Playing closer to home would be handy - not to mention the savings in gas. Call if you're in the area. 757-442-6008. Tom W.

Music Festival

I have just returned July11,12,13 from the Big Horn Mountain Music Festival, in Buffalo Wy. What a great time, spending time in guitar seminars with Jeff Troxel and Kenny Smith. The great musicians were very inspirational and gave lots of great advise. Seeing friends and spending time listening to new musicians and making new friends is what I love about festivals. thanks to all who participated and I am looking forward to more in the future.

Norman's Preferences

I saw a video in which Norman discussed why he preferred a certain fret when refretting one of his Martin's. I am about to refret my D-35 Martin, and I would like to know if anyone remembers a video in which Norman discusses his choice over the Frets Martin uses. Thank You.7See More
