Doc Watson - American Musical Treasure.

Hello any and all, besides trying to break in my new old guitar, which had sat in my grandmother's closet for a  decade or more - I'm also forever trying to make a living online. . . .which I tell you, is probably about as easy as would be trying to make a living as a Bluegrass guitarist.  VERY HARD!

New Volume in Flatpicking Guitar Magazine's "Best Of" Series

Orrin Star in California and Nevada

Flatpicking Guitar Magazine columnist Orrin Star will be touring California in May, conducting both mandolin and guitar workshops (both lead and rhythm workshops) and performing. He starts in Sacrmento on the 15th of May and ends the run in Corte Madera on the 24th, hitting Reno, Burlingame, Berkeley, and Palo Alto in-between. Russ Barenberg Workshops

Merlefest 2008 Flatpicking Contest

Congratulations to the 2008 Merlefest Contest winners. This year's guitar contest was won by Seth Taylor. Seth, from Bryson City, North Carolina, is one of those youngsters who has been burning up the contest circuit with both the guitar and banjo during the past few years (for more information about Seth, visit www.sethtaylor.net).

Jim Nunally Releases New Rhythm DVD

Our good friend Jim Nunally, is one of the finest bluegrass guitar players in the business (currently performing with John Reischman and the Jaybirds, the David Grisman Bluegrass Experience, and Due West).
