So I will be 55 next tuesday.
Last tuesday I learned I had prostate cancer.. last thursday in a consultation and after a lotta googlin , I learned my best option is surgery to remove the darn thing.
We are optomistic .
Bottom line, due to checkups and followups, we have a chance to get beyond this..
The finest health care system in the world cant work unless you give it a chance.. So guys.. get a checkup !

my psa was not hi enough to trigger a warning, but the exam ,
afub,
discovered a mishapen growth and a biopsy determined the cancer.. so while a psa is very important , so is the exam.
It can run in families, so , my dad had it, i got it, my 4 brothers are in a very hi risk group..
I have surgery scheduled for early dec.. and the odds are in my favor.

To everyone- I am a regular blood donor in my town. With each donation you can accumulate pionts for merch such as lawn chairs, bags, umbrellas etc. I always use my points for a PSA test wich they can do along with letting you in on cholesteral levels and other things. A PSA test is, obviously, non intrusive, and alerts to high levels which could be a warning sign.
