Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

In this edition of the Flatpicking Guitar Magazine Podcast, Dan Miller talks with Dix Bruce about his new Christmas book "Christmas Favorites for Solo Guitar." Dix talks about how he selected the songs, the arrangements he presents, and how you might think about making up your own arrangements. He also plays two songs from the book for your Christmas listening pleasure. This book is now available at www.flatpickingmercantile.com, at the following URL:

Every year at our family Christmas gatherings, I always manage to have a guitar handy just in case someone asks "hey did you bring your guitar this year?" The family loves singing Christmas songs by candlelight and the additon of the guitar adds to the fun. My wife recently ordered Dix's new "Christmas Favorites for Solo Guitar" book for this year's gathering. It's a really awesome resource for all levels. Even if you are at the "3-chords and an attitude" level you'll enjoy the book.

So... when I saw Dan's post about the Dix Bruce podcast, I had to check it out. I'm glad I did. In the podcast, Dix mentions that he has posted a free downloadable lyrics booklet to accompany the guitar book. It's a perfect tool to help the "professional" singers in your family learn the "right" words to the songs :)

I'm off to practice up for the holidays. (After which I'll return to volumes 4 and 5 of essential flatpicking)

Merry Christmas to all.

Any Carbon Acoustic Guitar enthusiast here?

My first Carbon was an Adamas.I currently play a Rainsong Dred.I discovered carbon Guitars 2 years ago in a local Guitar store and purchased one within a month.  I played my first RainSong Dred about a year later and bought that one.I watched Scott Nygards reviews on you tube and that kinda got me searching.Anyone else play the fakes?See More
