A New Year
I hope the world becomes a better place in 2009. So much strife, so much misery..makes one want to go write a sad song.
On the other hand, we had a baby in the house last night, first time in a way long time. The lil smile on her face this morning gives me hope .. and scares the heck outta me .. its a tuff, changing world she will have to navigate.. but I reckon thats a grandparents place.. take all the hugs and worry !
The look on Amya's face when I get to playin the Clarence is worth more than I can express..I sure hope we can make music a part of her life.
I wrote a song for her on the way to Winfield this year.. an e boogie type of riff.
Grampa Blue....
When I hold her in my arms so gently,
and I look into those big brown eyes,
I see a smile that lites up my world completely,
and my heart says lordy , lordy its about time,
I've got another one to love,
the lil lady done stole my heart,
she's got me wrapped around her finger,
I guess I got the Grampa Blues !
Well I dont want to change no diapers,
and I dont wanna wipe no lil butts,
and leave all the feedins for gandma,
just give grampa all the hugs!

Americana fest tickets are on sale now .. We have the lineup.. I hope we get the fans too !
We had an extra 3 inches of snow on the ground this morning.. that is winter in Northern Ill for ya !
The Pickin' at Peaceful Bend dvd is out. I am so proud of this project.. The guys play so well, the music is so good, well, I think we outta be plannin trips to all the awards shows .. I think its that good !
Anyway, thats all for now.. I hope all you flatpickers have had a fine holiday season , and we wish everyone all the best in the New Year !
