Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

We have a saying here that you wait for ages for one bus and then three come along at the same time!

This morning while watching with interest but growing frustration at the developing discussions on the new Flatpicking Essentials Group not able to understand what the hell they were talking about (because I didn't have and couldn't get the first volume for myself due to computer problems - FG Mercantile wouldn't process my order because I didn't have "cookies" enabled even though I did...very frustrating...) and also given that I had previously ordered from them and was still waiting on Mel Bay's First Lessons Flatpicking Guitar by Joe Carr, I decided to go round the loop again and see if there was some way I could resolve this issue once and for all.

This time, for no apparent good reason, my order was accepted (even though they still didn't recognise the email address and password I had already given them) by placing the order as a non-member. The ways of computers often escapes me. Anyway no sooner was the order placed and paid for I was able to download Volume 1 along with the audio files. Yipee - making good progress here!

Then the postman arrived... with my Joe Carr "First Lessons" with CD and DVD, and Flatpicking Guitar Magazine with CD!

And this is only two days after receiving my welcome pack with complimentary CD of Bluegrass music from the Scottish Bluegrass Association.

Now I'm suddenly overwhelmed with resource material.

The big issue for me now will be to somehow sort out a programme of listening and learning which doesn't bog me down or fly me off at a tangent.

At least I can now follow what's going on in the Flatpicking Essentials Group started by ganon. I'm off to join that merry band of brothers!

Any Carbon Acoustic Guitar enthusiast here?

My first Carbon was an Adamas.I currently play a Rainsong Dred.I discovered carbon Guitars 2 years ago in a local Guitar store and purchased one within a month.  I played my first RainSong Dred about a year later and bought that one.I watched Scott Nygards reviews on you tube and that kinda got me searching.Anyone else play the fakes?See More
