Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

Since Dan has made it so easy, I decided to write about stuff.
No particular stuff, just stuff I felt a need to say.
So I will start by saying, if you read this , I will try to be as truthful as I can , So if something isn't mentioned its cuz I really dont have anything to say , or what I have to say aint worth sayin..
I believe that may be a tuff job, figuring out whats worth sayin, and what isnt.. so it may be awhile tween sayins.
That said, this thing Dan has created has become a part of my music world , that I didnt know I hadn't had.
A place to look in on all the time, it only takes a second, and see who has what to say.
Sometime interesting, sometimes not.. but really , anything to do with this wonderful world of pickers and players is worth a look ..imho.

I hope to be able to announce the release of the Winfield Champ DvD soon. We are putting the finishing touches on now. I have seen a small cut of the intro, and I think we will have a really nice show for folks and fans. There has been talk of a release show, somewhere. I am not sure how that will work. Anybody who reads this and is interested in helping make that happen, please chime in !
Thanx to , Dan Miller at FGM, Brance Gillihan at Clear Blue Productions, Mark C. , Robert S. , and Robin K. , who have all gone above and beyond to make this happen..
The Bend and the Fest in general will be apart of the dvd.. That should be interesting.

Next years lineup is pretty well set, and it is a darn fine weekend of Flatpickin ! Tyler Grant (2008 Winfield Champ) , Josh Williams (2008 IBMA Guitar Player of the Year) , Robert Bowlin, Jack Lawrence and Scott Nygaard in a Performance DVD shoot , David Grier and Robin Kessinger, Tim May and Brad Davis and Wil Maring and Dan Miller .. workshoppin, Jamming , eatin .. It will be fun.

Take care,

Bill

Steve, my office is across the street from Dusty Strings in Seattle and it turns out they have a D18GE in stock. I had not even noticed it but picked it up. The neck takes some getting used to (or probably for me the bigger adjustment is tied to a 1…

So what you are talking about here Jon, is not what I started the thread for( but it IS a nice aside!) You NEED to know what your humidity is at in your house were your axe lives. That is what the Hygrometer is for. There are all kinds of threads ev…

I've never had a gauge that I've used for any of my guitars, but what I have done which only costs a few dollars is to get a travel soap box and a sponge to use as a small humidifier that I keep in my case. It's works really well and fits perfectly…
