We love you and will miss you, Doc!  Has anyone ever matched his musical taste and melodic sense?  For all his amazing virtuosity, he never played to show off hot licks, everything was in service of the song.  Dan, how about a special memorial issue of the magazine devoted to Doc, with stories from various flatpickers about his importance to them, and studies of some of his renditions of tunes?  Without Doc, would there even be flatpicking as we know it?

Thanks for the sharing the picture, that is absolutely beautiful. Where is this statue at? Some information about this gorgeous tribute would be appreciated. Thanks again for sharing.

Bluegrass Music - Town Mountain - Free Live Stream Fri May 17th, 8pm
