Flatpicking Guitar Network

For Fans of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine

Another extremely fine and well known flatpicker that has been on the cover of Flatpicking Guitar Magazine in the past is Russ Barenberg.  I've personally been affected by that fella's fine and tasteful music in the past, as the single largest audience I ever played in front of ...was treated to Barenberg's "Keep It Up/Prince Charlie" from my own fingers.

So Russ is important to me, and I took the time to create a bit of a tribute to him, and I hope that maybe some of you will enjoy it too.

A Big make that HUGE Amen from this member of the choir.  I've loved his music and appreciated his interaction material from way back when.  But this past summer at Ashokan's Guitar Camp, Russ was one of the teachers .... you just could not have asked  for a more thoughtful instructor.  The jams at night were a just a joy to listen to  ....  Russ playing along with old friends Jay Ungar and Molly Mason and past student Matt Munisteri.  Wonderful!  He's as high quality a human being as he is guitarist.   Ryk

Hey thanks Ryk!!!  I'd love to get to go see and do some of those things at some point.  Most of these great flatpick guitarist sure seem approachable and friendly whenever one does get a chance to interact with them.

Norman's Preferences

I saw a video in which Norman discussed why he preferred a certain fret when refretting one of his Martin's. I am about to refret my D-35 Martin, and I would like to know if anyone remembers a video in which Norman discusses his choice over the Frets Martin uses. Thank You.7See More
